Daniel Herbert WHITMORE

Daniel H. Whitmore, age 67, of Genesee, WI died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.  Dan was born March 19, 1949 to Burnell “Bub”and Alice “AJ” (Horn) Whitmore in Waukesha, WI.  On October 26, 1974 he married Barbara A. Moore in Genesee, WI.

Dan was a runner in his younger years, running both cross country and track. He was a member of the Dousman Gun Club, the GTO Club and the NRA.  He was owner and operator of Whitmore Engines and loved building and working on Pontiac engines.  Dan most recently worked making custom rifle barrels at Bartlein Barrels in Jackson, WI.  He was a hunter, fisherman and gardener.

Dan is survived by his wife, Barb; his daughter, Betsy (Russ) Giese of Olney, MD and his son, John Whitmore of Genesee; his granddaughter, Merian Giese; his siblings, Tim (Nancy) Whitmore, Joe (Alice) Whitmore, Steve Whitmore, Andy (Dawn) Whitmore and Mary Beth (Mike) O’Neil; his in-laws, Dave Moore, Terry (Melodie) Moore and Patti (John Lamp) Moore; his Aunts and Uncles, Mary Lynn (Dick) Savatski, Don Stein, Herbert (Arlene) Horn and Jeanette Horn; other relatives and many friends.  Preceding him in death are his parents, his mother and father in law, and a brother, Ben.

Funeral Services for Dan will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Thelen Funeral Services (W309S4840 Commercial Drive, Genesee, WI—NW corner of Hwy’s 59/83) with Rev. Peter St. Martin officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 (noon) until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
