Edward C. PETERS

Edward C. Peters, 71, of North Prairie died peacefully at his home on October 21, 2016 probably dreaming of driving his way to heaven in a fancy Peterbilt truck with a cd playing of great old country music and him telling jokes on the CB radio. 

Eddie was born in Sparta, WI on July 13, 1945 to the late Crete and Clarion (Fisher) Peters.

He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1963 where he met and later married his sweetheart, Joyce A. Heinz on May 8, 1965. 

He will be sadly and deeply missed by his “bride” of 51 years, Joyce; his son Timothy in which he had great pride; his brother Deane (Nancy) Peters, Sr.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  Ed is preceded in death by his sisters:  Carol Moore, Sharon Brooks, Clara Loeder and Geraldine Schamens.

Ed was a truck driver for Sayles Trucking and Delawauk.  He took pride in the trucks he drove-always keeping them clean and spiffy.  Ed was also a talented drummer who loved and played country music in local bands:  Country Travelers, Skip and Gail Show and Tom Janus and the Nashville Sound.  He was also the drummer for various country stars who played at the Milwaukee Auditorium and other venues.  He loved being with family, he loved hunting, fishing, traveling and helping others and making them smile.

A Celebration of Life for Ed will be Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00PM held at Thelen Funeral Services (W309 S4840 Commercial Drive, Genesee—NW corner of Hwy’s 83 and 59).  Memorial gathering will be from 12:00 (NOON) until the service time.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
