Edward Albert RETZLAFF

Edward A. Retzlaff, age 93, of Waukesha, formerly of Oconomowoc, WI died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at ManorCare of Pewaukee.  Ed was born May 18, 1923 to Edmund and Gustie (Maske) Retzlaff in Herman, WI. On April 15, 1950 he married the love of his life, Martha Lillian Schuett in Ashippun, WI. 

Ed lived most of his life in Monterey, WI.  He spent his time following the Brewers, gardening and fishing.  He was social man who became the life of the retirement home as he volunteered his duties, delivering popcorn, stuffed animals and crafts to any visiting children and also praying with other residents.  He gave to them all and on the day of his passing he was flooded with their love and visits.

Surviving Ed are his children: Edward R. (Deborah) Retzlaff of Anderson, SC, Cheryl (James) Zsori of Waukesha, WI, Perry Retzlaff of  Salt Lake City, UT  and Gayle (Thomas) Wangerin of North Lake, WI;  his 10 grandchildren: Bradly, Bryce, Eric, Scott, Myles, Christian, Nathan, TJ, Elizabeth and Kayla;  10 great-grandchildren; his 2 sisters, Bernice (Virgil) Metke of Mayville, WI and Mary Zuehlke of Mayville, WI, other relatives and many good friends.  Preceding him are his parents, his wife, Martha, and 10 siblings.

Funeral Services for Ed will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church (W240 N3103 Pewaukee Road, Pewaukee, WI) with Rev. Dr. Richard Krause officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00PM until the time of services at the church.  Burial will follow at Ashippun Lutheran Cemetery with military honors.  Memorial contributions in Ed’s name can be directed to: ManorCare of Pewaukee.
