Evelyn Irene Armstrong, age 86 of Dousman passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 3, 2017. Evelyn was born August 10, 1931 in the Town of Lisbon, WI to Frank and Clarinda (Weyer) Savatski. She married Richard Armstrong on June 2, 1951 at St. Mary’s Chapel in Waukesha. They farmed outside of Eagle for 19 years. Evelyn was very active in church, running the Fish Fry, Funeral Dinners and the Bizarre at St. Paul’s. For many years she belonged to the North Prairie Garden Club and was on many bowling leagues. Evelyn was an original employee of Le Duc’s Custard and worked there for 35 years. She will always be remembered for her loving, caring and selfless ways. She always put others needs ahead of her own.
Survivors include: her husband of 66 years, Richard; her children, Christine (Dennis) Arndt, Gary Armstrong, Larry (Linda) Armstrong, Karen Dolgner (Harv Wiersma), Dean Armstrong, Jeffrey (Toni) Armstrong, Jerome (Lisa) Armstrong and Connie (Dan) Porter; her 16 grandchildren, Sarah (Jim) Frutchey, David (Jodi) Arndt, Rebekah Arndt, Leah Arndt, Micah Arndt, Hannah (Eric) Connell, Miranda Armstrong, Benjamin (Stephanie) Dolgner, Emily (Paul) Ramirez, Daniel (Kelli) Ramsdell, Nicholas Armstrong, Joshua Armstrong, Jason Armstrong, Jessica (Jason) Wood, Joseph Porter and Jennifer Porter; 18 ½ great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary (Bill) Mack, Doris Leonard (Robert Ramlow), Geraldine (Allan) Banaczak; her brother, Donald (Carolyn) Savatski and brother-in-law, Gordon Carlson; other relatives and many good friends.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Patricia (Lloyd) Gasser and Therese Carlson.
A Memorial Mass for Evelyn will be on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 12:00 (noon) at St. James Catholic Church (820 East Veterans Way, Mukwonago, WI) with Fr. Dennis Ackeret officiating. A memorial gathering will be held at the church from 10:00AM until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions in Evelyn’s name may be directed to St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spina Bifida Association of WI (www.sbwis.org/donate) or ProHealth Home Hospice (www.prohealthcare.org).
