Small Business Appreciation

Published: July 10, 2023

Hi everyone! As a small business, we love supporting other small businesses. So today I want to kick off the week with a semi-informal video showing off some of the small businesses we work with. Before I start this, I just want to say that everything I am demonstrating are options available to families. These are by no means the only options available to work with but they all have wonderful products and services that we wanted to highlight.

We are going to kick off this video with the florist that your orders go to if you order flowers through our website. Blooms in Bloom is located in Eagle, WI. Owned and operated by Kayce Meracle. Kayce has her own greenhouse on her property to grow a variety of gorgeous flowers of the highest quality. Kayce’s greenhouse means she doesn’t have to have most flowers shipped and gives her diverse options for customization. Kayce can take something as simple as saying, purple flowers and a budget and create something truly amazing. Thank you Blooms in Bloom for your phenomenal floral expertise!

Next up are actually two business and that I am showing off together. We get a lot of requests for wood urns! We have two gentlemen who didn’t like the urns that they had seen on the market and decided to start doing something about it by creating their own masterpieces. Jim Zsori of the Knot House has some wonderful pieces that follow along our desire for customization. Shown here is his picture frame urn that rotates so you can put pictures all over the urn. Jim also creates wonderful veterans items such as the flag boxes shown here to house your loved ones burial flag.  Tim Taggert of Knott an Average Box is our other craftsman shown here. He loves working with diverse woods to create true art pieces for families. Tim is amazing as taking requests such as “as knotty oak as possible” and turning it into a perfect keepsake. Both of these men are true craftsmen and we are so honored to offer their urns to our families. Thank you Jim and Tim!

Next we head into the realm of food! With our large community room, we love to house luncheons for families if they desire. We often get asked who we normally use for catering and our answer is Rochester Deli. Rochester Deli, owned by dan and laura strackbein, provides a variety of options for catering funeral luncheons. They have hot and cold options. You can have a full buffet, just snacks, or simply the most important food group…desserts! The Rochester Deli crew is wonderful to work with to make sure you food is created with perfection and has exactly what you would like present!

Our next business is Custom Craft Casket. Located in WHERE, this small business offers a wide variety of casket options. These caskets are kept stocked up so they are always on hand for services. The excellent diversity allows you to select a casket that truly speaks to you and matches who your loved one was. We are going to look into some of these caskets later this week but you can also see some of them available on our website. Thank you Custom Craft Casket for you top of the line options.

Our final small is our livery system. We at Thelen Funeral Services do not own our own hearse so we choose to employ the services of Kutz livery to provide us with a hearse and driver on service days. Families have the option of requesting a silver hearse if they don’t like the traditional black look.  This service allows for top of the line of hearses and drivers at a lower cost to families than if we owned and maintained our own hearse. Thank you Kutz Livery for all of your time and dedication to this service.
