Jon Derek HERMANSON

Jon Derek Hermanson, age 52, of Waukesha, WI. passed away on September 10, 2019. Jon was born in Madison, Wisconsin on June 2, 1967. He spent the majority of his childhood there, until moving to Cary, Illinois with his family. Jon graduated from Cary High School Class of 1985.

Jon pursued a career in IT, eventually taking him to Waukesha, Wisconsin. He successfully pursued an outstanding career in sales support, currently with Presidio.

As a young man, Jon was active in Boy Scouts and Madison Boys Choir. He continued to pursue his love of music through composing, singing, and playing the piano. In his adult years, Jon acquired an impressive collection of Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger memorabilia from his years as a fan of Wisconsin athletics. Jon was an avid conservationist and passionately enjoyed his trap shooting club.

Even in his early years, Jon displayed the gift of conversation. He loved being surrounded by the company of great friends, and often took time to show support or lend a hand for those dearest to him. Jon was blessed with many friends. To know Jon, was to be a friend of Jon.

Jon is survived by his children Kasandra (Kasey) and Derek Hermanson, parents Joni and Jerry Hermanson, sister Jeri Rae Steward, brother-in-law Richard Steward, nieces Taylor and Savannah Steward.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Reva and Lyman Hermanson and Helena and Bueford Foege.

A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Jon on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 6:00PM at Thelen Funeral Services (W309S4840 Commercial Drive, North Prairie—NW corner of Hwy’s 59 and 83). Memorial gathering for family and friends will be from 4:30PM until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions in Jon’s name may be directed to: the American Heart Association and are greatly appreciated.
