Peter William HERR, Sr.

Peter W. Herr, Sr., age 76, of Mukwonago passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  Pete was born on February 25, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Peter W. and Evelyn I. (Wilde) Herr.   He married the love of his life Mary J. Garrison on December 20, 1969 in Milwaukee, WI.

Pete served in the US Army in Vietnam and the European Theatre.  Pete liked to hunt and fish.  He was employed by Pepsi, Texaco and Hopson Oil.  He was a truck driver for 34 years.  He also worked mowing lawns and cleaning for Hartmann Controls and helping his daughter with her yard and for the neighbors.  After retirement he liked to bake dog treats, Rhubarb bread and much more.  He also enjoyed talking with everyone. 

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary; his children, Pete, Jr (Barbara) of Milwaukee and Evelyn (James) Sims of Barrington, IL; his two beautiful granddaughters, Madeline and Olivia Sims; his brothers, Arnold (Christine) Dahlin of Miami, FL and Leroy (Mary) Dahlin of La Pointe, WI; other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Pete in death are his parents, Peter and Evelyn Herr; his step-father, Nelson Dahlin and his in-laws, William and Marie Garrison.

Memorial Celebration Gathering for Pete will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM at Thelen Funeral Services (W309 S4840 Commercial Drive—NW corner of Hwy’s 59/83, North Prairie, WI) with military honors to follow.
