Rev. Lawrence "Larry" C. PRICE

Rev. Lawrence C. “Larry” Price, age 85 of Pewaukee, WI found eternal peace on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Elmbrook Hospital. 

Larry was an ordained ELCA Pastor for almost 60 years. Larry was born June 30, 1931 in Dayton OH to Rev. Lawrence S. and Gladys (Conrad) Price and lived his childhood in Fremont OH. He graduated with a BA in History from Wooster College in Wooster OH in 1953 and a Masters of Divinity in 1957. He served at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Baltimore MD, Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg WI, Dr. Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc WI, and Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Buckeye AZ. Larry was married to Sherrill W. Price on September 28, 1956. They were married for 50 years before her passing to the Lord.

Moving back from AZ to WI Larry lived the last 17 years in Kirkland Crossing in Pewaukee WI. He was a pillar of his community and faith as he participated and led many people in religious beliefs. Larry was the acting President of the Residence Council and often filled in as support clergy. He was an active member of Galilee Lutheran Church in Pewaukee WI. He led and taught many Bible Studies and served as advisor on many committees.

In his youth, Larry was an athlete. He participated in both cross country and excelled at swimming winning a state championship in the back stroke setting many local and state records. Larry swam at the College of Wooster and was inducted into the Wooster Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987.

Larry enjoyed life at the family summer house in Thesslon Ontario and traveling while being surrounded by friends and family. He enjoyed cooking, watching sports, and gardening as a form of relaxation.  Both Larry and Sherill loved their pets as family members.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Sheldon (fiancée Walt Milet) Price; son, Lawrence “Ned” (Karen) Price; grandchildren, Ian Becker, Drew and Taylor Price; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Sherrill and a brother, Lionel Price.

Funeral services for Rev. Larry will be on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11:00AM at Galilee Lutheran Church (N24W26430 Crestview Drive, Pewaukee, WI) with Rev. Jay Ford officiating.   Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00AM until the time of service.
