Rosario “Charito” Miranda, age 73, of Waukesha passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Rosario was born in Puerto Rico on December 12, 1944, to Adolfo and Juana (Santana-Gonzalez) Miranda.
Rosario moved to Chicago, IL. at the age of nineteen from Caguas, Puerto Rico. She lived most of her adult life in the neighborhoods of Humboldt Park and Ukraine Village. She raised her two daughters as a single mom. She lovingly and fiercely set the example to her daughters on the importance of meeting and overcoming any adversity. She helped her daughters become strong, independent, loving, professional women; raising their own families in the same fashion.
She later moved to WI to be with her daughters. Rosario was known for her spunky fun-loving attitude, her amazing cooking skills and for always welcoming friends and family in her home. Her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she never missed an important event. She was kind, loving and generous.
Rosario loved music, dancing, watching professional boxing matches on the television and playing dominoes with her friends.
Rosario is survived by her loving daughters, Aracelis Miranda (Marc) Spindt and Sylvia Castro (Alfredo) Ortega; grandchildren, Miranda Loren and Nicolas Phillip; her siblings, Maria Mercedes Miranda and Nelly Miranda; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceding Rosario in death are her parents and her brothers, Rafael and Herman Miranda.
