Christine "Chris" Mary (Michaelis) JANNY

Christine Mary Janny (Michaelis), age 63 of Eagle, WI passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 with her loving family at her side.  Chris was born on January 28, 1956 in Waukesha, WI to David and Mary Jane (Knutson) Michaelis.  She married the love of her life, Jay A. Janny on September 2, 1976 at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha.

Chris lived life to the fullest, even cancer couldn’t slow her amazing spirit. Chris and  her high school sweetheart Jay had a love that others could only dream of. Chris was a very proud mother of Angela. Family always came first for Chris and anyone who knew her as a friend quickly became family. 

She enjoyed sleeping in, going out for breakfast, relaxing in the sun, and cruising in the Vette. If there was a summer festival or event, guaranteed she would be there with her everlasting smile surrounded by family and friends. 

Chris cherished her friendships from high school, always keeping in touch and sharing stories. Chris was always a hard worker and loved her coworkers dearly.

Cherish each and every moment with your loved ones because it’s only a moment. 

We need more Chris’s in the world.

Chris is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jay of Eagle, WI; her daughter, Angela (Jason) Smalley of East Troy, WI; her granddaughter, Signey Smalley; her brothers and sisters, Dean (Sherry) Michaelis, Chad (Sue) Michaelis, Gary, Lee and Greg Michaelis, David (Nora) Michaelis, Michele (Paul) Neilson and Sandy Steiner; brother-in-law, Bill (Barb) Janny and sister-in-law, Jessica (David) Coss; other relatives and many, many friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her brother-in-law, David Janny.

The family would like to say “THANK YOU” to Dr. Christopher Hake, Dr. Janet Turner and the nurses and staff at Pro Health Care for the loving and devoted care they showed Chris.

Funeral Services for Chris will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:00PM at Thelen Funeral Services, W309 S4840 Commercial Drive, North Prairie, WI. (NW corner of Hwy’s 83 and 59 in Genesee) with Rev. Andrew Fetters officiating.  Memorial gathering will be held from 10AM until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
