James P. Bartolerio, age 92, of Oconomowoc, WI passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Shorehaven. Jim was born on May 9, 1931 to Louis and Emma (Horvath) Bartolerio.
James married Margaret Schueller on Sept. 10, 1955 at Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Milwaukee. They were married until Margaret passed away on Sept. 10, 1992. They were blessed with 5 children: Susan, Linda, Jeffrey, Cynthia and Lisa. For the past 30 years James found a loving partner, Nancy, who he was with until his death.
James graduated from High School in West Allis. After high school, James started a Machinist apprenticeship at Allis-Chalmers. During his apprenticeship he was called to serve in the Korean War. After he came back from Korea, he continued his apprenticeship, which he completed in 1956. After many years of being a machinist, he became a Quality Inspector and then an Industrial Engineer. In his early years he also worked at his Father's floral shop in West Allis. After retiring from Allis-Chalmers James spent time operating a weed harvester on Blue Spring Lake in Palmyra.
James enjoyed lake living and going for rides on his boats. He was a Packer fan, loved doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening, playing Sheepshead, and spending time with family.
Survivors include his children, Susan (Jay) Streeter, Linda Becher, Jeffrey (Debby) Bartolerio, Cynthia Koepke and Lisa (Bill) Swartwout; his 11 grandchildren, Julie (Colin) Fiedler, Sarah (Andy) Gotz, Jay (Kristin) Streeter, Shawn (Tanya) Becher, Jessica (John) Heckenkamp, Lana (Kris) Braun, Tony Bartolerio, Nick (Katie) Bartolerio, Duncan Koepke, Molly Koepke and Devon Swartwout; his 8 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alli, Steven, Noah, Nathaniel, Adeline, Eliana and Lydia; his loving partner Nancy and other relatives and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dave.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jim on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Paul Parish, S38W31602 Wern Way, Waukesha, WI. with Fr. Dan Volkert officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until 10:45 AM at the church. Burial with military honors will follow the mass at St. Bruno Parish Cemetery, Dousman.
Memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
