Jean Ann (nee Trupke) Hoffmann, having lived a long and wonderful life, died on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the age of 92. She was born on November 25, 1929, the daughter of Paul A & Elsie Mae (nee Olson) Trupke. She grew up in the Village of Genesee and attended Waukesha High School. Shortly after graduation she began her professional career in Waukesha as bookkeeper at the Wilbur Lumber Company. Her love of balancing and accounting made her a natural. Years later her career culminated at Wisconsin Power & Light where she served as a Shareowner Service Representative in the investment division, a position she held until retirement.
Jean was remarkable in the fact that she was always in a good mood! Her indelible love of a picnic, walk in the woods or drive on a country road influenced many of the next generation to have fun, enjoy the outdoors and take one’s time. She loved to volunteer. Her most cherished times were at Old World Wisconsin. There she served as a greeter, welcoming thousands of visitors to this Wisconsin historical gem. Throughout her life, her heart never left Waukesha County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Hoffmann, brother Paul G. Trupke and sister Mary Nell (nee Trupke) Laurie. She is survived by her son, Charles P. Hoffmann and grandchildren, Hannah Jean Hoffmann and Thomas Charles Hoffmann, all of Cambridge, Wisconsin.
On Friday, November 25, 2022 (what would have been her 93rd birthday), Visitation will commence at 10am followed by a Memorial Service at 11am at the First Congregational Church of Genesee, W306 S5075 Church Street, Mukwonago, Wisconsin 53149, just blocks from the intersection of Highways 59 and 83 in Genesee Village, Wisconsin.
A short private burial will occur immediately following the service. Luncheon to follow at The Union House Restaurant in Genesee Depot.
In lieu flowers, donations can be made to the Old World Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting Old World Wisconsin, a state historic site, owned and operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society. http://www.oldworldfoundation.org
