June A. (Simons) CURLER

June A. Curler (Simons), age 96 of Eagle, WI passed away at her residence with her loving family at her side on Sunday, August 22, 2021. June was born on May 16, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI to Sylvester and Anna (Kalmbacher) Simons. 

June lived a very full and active life. After high school, she met her husband, Gerald H Curler and they married in August, 1946. They built a life together in Brookfield, WI, building a house and bringing 4 children into the world, including a set of twins! 

Sadly, June endured the tragedy of losing her husband and 2 sons at an early age.  But she had her daughters and God’s support to help her through.  She and her daughters moved together to Eagle, WI where they purchased 15 acres of land, each building a house.  June stayed in that house for 61 years and was able to pass away peacefully in her own home.

June stayed busy with many hobbies. She loved quilting, knitting and sewing. She loved to travel and to try new restaurants. She spent a lot of time gardening and caring for her rock garden. And she was very active in her church. As time went on, these things became more difficult to do. But the things that always remained constant in her 96 years was that she loved her family. She relished hearing about what was happening in everyone’s lives. She enjoyed attending events for her great-grandchildren, and looked forward to any gathering that brought everyone together. 

Survivors include her daughters: Michele (Ron) Pipp and Nanette (Jim) Reiter; her 5 grandchildren (Scott, Kristine, Angela, Heather and Melissa); her 4 great-grandchildren (Austin, Braiden, Alayna and Ashlyn); a brother, Jack (Lupe) Simons; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Gerald; her sons, Jerry and Michael; her sister, Mary Jane Rosenquist and her brother, Doug Simons. 

A Memorial Service for June is scheduled for Tuesday August 31, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 136 West Waukesha Road, Eagle, WI. A time of fellowship and light luncheon are scheduled to follow the service in the Churches school basement. Committal services will be for immediate family at a later date.
