June WEISS Obituary

June Marilyn Weiss, age 86, of Mukwonago died on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Matthews of Pewaukee with her family at her side.  June was born on November 8, 1933 to David E. and Beatrice I. (Paul) Grant in Milwaukee, WI.

June was a career bookkeeper and taught organ and piano lessons for many years.  Upon retirement, she worked at Walmart for ten years and loved her dear friends who welcomed her into their inner circle and continued visiting her after she moved to Mukwonago to live with her daughter.  Her family was generational Wisconsin Synod Lutherans.  She was baptized, confirmed and married to her first husband Garvin at St. Andrew’s Church in Milwaukee.  After moving to the Town of Raymond, she became a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oak Creek where she married her second husband Vern.  June loved her personal home visits by St. John’s Pastor Reckzin after she moved in with her daughter. She loved traveling to Florida with her husband Vern to stay in their trailer and play cards with relatives. She was a member of the South Milwaukee American Legion where she served as an officer and volunteered for many events and activities. She was also a member of the Muwonago Red Hats Society.  June was an avid card player and played on three different card groups including the Mukwonago and East Troy Seniors.  She was very proud that she beat her son Garvin playing Cribbage a few weeks prior to her death.  She loved to golf, do cross word puzzles and creating beautiful pictures with colored pencils. She enjoyed going to craft fairs and movies with her daughter, her sister Cindy and good friend Rose.  Family was near and dear to her and she loved family gatherings being surrounded by her great-grandchildren.

June is survived by her children: Garvin (Carol) McIntosh, Lynn (Wayne) Kallas, Timothy (Colleen) McIntosh, Debbie Weiss, Patricia (Darrel) Kaufman, Andrew Weiss, and Robert Weiss; her 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle) Weber, Joseph Kallas, Jacob Kallas, Nicole (Mark) Spielbauer, Cory (Alex) McIntosh, Jason Weiss, Amy Liskey (Steve), Greg Kaufman, Michael Weiss and Tyler Weiss; her five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Madisyn, Amilya, Fynley, Rylie (and an additional granddaughter due in June); her sister, Cindy (Greg) Pilarski; dear friends Jennifer Weiss and Pat Anderson, and other relatives and many friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her two husbands, Garvin McIntosh and Vernon Weiss; her step-daughter, Mary Weiss and her brother Gary Grant.
