Leroy Thomas KIPP

Leroy Thomas Kipp, age 91, of North Prairie passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Brolen Meadows in Mukwonago.  Leroy was born on November 30, 1931, to Hubert and Hertha (Wohlleben) on the family farm.

Leroy had a deep and sincere love for the farm. A love that never wavered all the days of his life. Farming runs deep through the Kipp family. Leroy’s farm has been in the Kipp family since 1848. As a child and young man, Leroy spent his time working hard on the farm alongside his grandparents, parents, brothers, uncles, and cousins.

When Leroy grew up, he served in the Army. After his time serving our country, he turned his attention back to his first love: farming. It was on the farm that he raised his own two children Larry and Cheryl. He left them with his same love for the land.

When his grandchildren were born, he shared the love of farming with them as well. He showed sheep with his grandchildren and left them with many fond memories of the farm. His farming legacy didn’t end with his grandchildren; he continued to pass on that love to his great grandchildren, housing ponies and chickens for the kids to be involved with.

Anyone who knew Leroy knew he loved farming as it was evident in every conversation he had, and boy did Leroy ever love to talk about farming! But there was more to Leroy as well. He was a very talented and accomplished carpenter. He helped with countless projects and made many treasured pieces of furniture for his children and grandchildren.

In his old age there was nothing Leroy loved more than his great grandchildren. Even if he couldn’t keep all 18 of them straight, nothing brought him more joy than snuggling one of those precious babies close in his wheelchair.

Leroy is survived by his children, Larry (Gayle) and Cheryl (Russ) Champine; his grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan) Neumann, Lyndsay (Chris) Fercho, Carly (James) Green, Joshua (Nicole) Stuart, and Jessica Pommerening; his great-grandchildren, Haylee, Harper, Hunter, Noah, Hannah, Quinn, Kai, Lux, Gracelyn, Eliana, William, Benjamin, Baylee, Jack, Avery, Logan, Jaxson, and Lexi; his brothers, Fredrick (Mareth), Richard, and James (Terri); nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Preceding Leroy in death are his parents.

A private family service for Leroy was held.
