Michael J DEKAN

Michael J. Dekan, age 68, of Ottawa, WI passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023.

Michael was born May 26, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI to Frank and Marilyn  (Drumel) Dekan.  He married Petra Koehler in Waukegan, IL in 1974.

Mike was a man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ above all else.  He was a man of his word.  His thoughts were black and white with nothing in between.  He loved his three girls and would do anything for them.  He found much of his joy being outdoors, hunting and fishing, even though sitting in one spot for more than a few minutes was too much.  He rarely sat still and moved from one project to the next.  He was a visionary who made things happen and could not accept “NO” as an option.  He will be dearly missed, especially by his wife of 48 years.

Survivors include his wife, Petra; his children, Cyle (Joe) Firnrohr, Kelly (Josh) Valentine and Brooke (Clint) Dondlinger; his grandchildren, Maakle, Quentin, Dylan, Taylor, Alyssa, Nova, Ethan, Jadon, Aidan, Cole, Mariah and Ella; his mother, Marilyn Dekan; his brother, Marvin Dekan, his sister-in-law, Amanda Dekan; other relatives and many friends.

Preceding Mike in death was his father, Frank.

The family will be holding a private family celebration of Michael’s later this spring/summer.
