Richard Clarence Armstrong, age 90, of Dousman, WI passed away at Three Pillars Senior Living Community in Dousman on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Richard was born July 30, 1929 in the Town of Ottawa, WI. to Clarence and Lillian Williamson Armstrong. He married Evelyn I. Savatski June 2, 1951 at St. Mary’s Chapel, Waukesha, WI.
Richard took over the family farm in Eagle from his parents. He farmed for many years. In 1969 he moved to Dousman and worked at Berg Construction. He finished his working career at DHI as a milk tester-back to his farming roots.
He was an avid gardener with his wife Evelyn. In his younger years he kept active playing baseball. He also bowled in many leagues. Rich enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Packers. Rich and Evelyn played cards regularly for many years with friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed walking in the neighborhood meeting new people and their dogs. He loved to spend time with family and friends.
Survivors include his children: Christine (Dennis) Arndt, Gary Armstrong, Karen Dolgner (Harv Wiersma), Dean Armstrong, Jeffery (Toni) Armstrong, Jerome (Lisa) Armstrong and Connie (Dan) Porter; daughter-in-law, Linda Armstrong; his 16 grandchildren, Sarah (Jim) Frutchey, David Arndt, Rebekah Arndt, Leah Arndt, Micah Arndt, Hannah (Eric) Connell, Miranda (Eric) Michaelis, Benjamin (Stephanie) Dolgner, Emily (Paul) Ramirez, Daniel (Kelli) Ramsdell, Nicholas Armstrong, Joshua Armstrong, Jason Armstrong, Jessica (Jason) Wood, Joseph Porter and Jennifer Porter; 20+ great-grandchildren; his in-laws, Mary (Bill) Mack, Doris Leonard (Robert Ramlow), Geraldine (Allan) Banaczak, Donald (Carolyn) Savatski; other relatives and friends.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents, his beloved wife, Evelyn; his son, Lawrence and his siblings, Charlotte Stickles and LaVerne Fejnas.
A Memorial Mass for Richard will be celebrated on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00AM at St. James Catholic Church (830 E. Veterans Way, Mukwonago, WI) with Fr. Loyola Amalraj officiating. Memorial gathering will be from 9:00AM until the time of mass at the church.
