Ronald Eric FUMALL

Ronald Eric Fumall, age 85, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN. He was born on November 3, 1934 in Waukesha, WI to Gregory and Frances Fumall. He married Joan Hollenbeck on February 20, 1960 at the First Congregational Church in Waukesha. 

Ron graduated from Waukesha High School in 1952. After graduation, Ron began working at the Waukesha Post Office as a clerk before joining the Navy. He served for two years (1955-57) and was stationed at the Navel Communication Station at Skaggs Harbor near San Francisco and in Sasebo, Japan. After the Navy, Ron “Rocket” returned to the Waukesha Post Office to resume working as a clerk. He later became a city letter carrier and finally a rural letter carrier for the last 17 years of his employment. Throughout the years he served as union president of all 3 postal crafts. He retired after 37 years at the USPS. After retirement, Ron worked at the Waukesha Food Pantry for 8 years overseeing the warehouse. He enjoyed serving his community. Ron was an avid gardener and loved taking care of his lawn and gardens on Brandybrook Road in Genesee, WI where he lived for 44 years. Ron was an active volunteer and Bible study group member at Highview Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Dousman, WI.

Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Joan Fumall, son Andrew (Tammy), daughter Deborah (Patrick) McClernon, and grandchildren Kaitlin, Sean and Kyle McClernon. Ronald also leaves behind his sisters Carolyn (Richard) Huttner and Lorna Bell. In addition, his brother-in-law Robert (Vee) Hollenbeck, aunt Myrtle Ester and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7 at Thelen Funeral Services in North Prairie, WI. Visitation will begin at 2pm followed by a service at 3pm. Military Honors for Ron to follow the services.
