Ronald P. Simonis, age 71, of Eagle, WI went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital with his family at his side. Ron was born on September 25, 1950 in Milwaukee to Herbert and Gretchen (Roggow) Simonis. Ron married the love of his life MaryKay Ksobiech on October 16, 1971 in Milwaukee.
Ron was raised in the North Prairie, Eagle area and chose to raise his family in the same community he grew up in. He attended Jericho, a one-room schoolhouse in Eagle. He eventually graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1968. Ron was a natural born athlete, he participated in baseball, basketball, and football at MHS. He was inducted into the MHS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. He went on to play hardball and softball after high school. He loved supporting his local teams, especially the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Ron was a dedicated shipper and painter at SPX Transformer Solutions for over 40 years. Ron also enjoyed his retirement gig at the Alice Baker Memorial Library. Ron spent countless hours volunteering at his church working with youth and made a difference in the lives of many children. Ron was often called a “family man”, and took care of MaryKay until his final days. You could always count on Ron to attend various events to support his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel and took his children on various road trips throughout the years, but Jellystone Park in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky was deemed his “happy place” with his children and eventually his grandchildren. Ron and MaryKay loved to cruise, and visit Florida. Ron loved to golf, to do puzzles, read and most of all, spend quality time with his family. He was the best husband, dad, and grandpa. He will be sorely missed and cherished in our hearts forever.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, MaryKay; his daughters, Tracy (David) Smith and Amy (Larry) Baumann; his 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Seth, Jackson and Taylor; his brother, Rick (Nancy) Simonis and his sister, Donna (Tom) Laughlin; other relatives, and many, many good friends.
Preceding Ron in death are his parents and his sister, Dyane.
