Sara Jean (Cartwright) NOWAK

Sara Jean (Cartwright) Nowak, age 42, of Palmyra died suddenly on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Sara was born on May 23, 1980 to Randal and Patricia (Meindel) Cartwright in Oconomowoc, WI.  Sara married Peter Kowalski on November 11, 2000, she later married Louis J. Nowak, II on September 2, 2017. 

Sara is survived by her loving children, Stephen (Katelyn), Brooke (Nick), Hunter and Austin Kowalski; her bonus children, Stephen (Abby) and Matthew (Lillian) Nowak; her parents, Randal and Patricia Cartwright; her brothers, Adam (Mayra) and Allen Cartwright; her maternal grandmother, Jean (Reynolds) Meindel; her paternal grandmother, Carol (Kesser) Cartwright; her father and mother-in-law, John and Bonnie Nowak; her sister-in-law, Mary Nowak; half-sisters, Samantha (Matthew) Kolitz, Kristine, Nicole and Bethany Ball; Grandma Berry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Preceding her in death are, her husband, Louis J. Nowak, II; her brother, Richard David Cartwright; her grandfathers, Richard Cartwright and Richard Meindel.

Sara didn’t have friends, everyone was family. She never had a full house because she always had room for more. She didn’t just enjoy spending time with friends and family, she lived for it. For Sara, the word NO did not exist. Always willing to try, tackle or do something new with anyone willing to do it with her, “We got this” was her answer.

If you needed a hug, Sara gave the best. If you needed a laugh, hers was contagious. If you were looking for a great meal, no one could create a delicious feast like her.

Most of all, Sara loved taking adventures with Louie and the kids making memories that will last a lifetime.

While there is no doubt she has left a void that will never be filled, we find peace knowing she will always be by our side.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Thelen Funeral Services, W309S4840 Commercial Drive, North Prairie/Genesee—NW corner of Hwy’s 83 and 59.  Visitation for Sara will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM, and again on Friday, April, 14, 2023 from 9:30AM until the time of services.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family asks that memorials be directed to them to be distributed at a later date.
