Born in the heart of Central Minnesota, I am honored to serve as a Licensed Funeral Director and Owner. My journey in Funeral Services began in 1999, shaped by apprenticeships at Molten Bell Funeral Home and Schmidt-Bartlet Funeral Home. After graduating from the MATC-Funeral Services Program, my commitment to serving the community took root.

For over 8 years, my family and I have been proud residents of North Prairie. Recognizing the community's need for a compassionate funeral home offering high-quality services at fair prices, we established a haven where families find solace. Our commitment includes a price match guarantee, ensuring affordability.

Listening to community needs, we installed the only on-site crematory in the southwest Waukesha County and northeast Jefferson County region, staying attuned to evolving funeral service trends. As a small-town-oriented establishment, we stand by our families, offering unwavering support during their darkest days.

My philosophy centers on helping families navigate their grief while meticulously handling the details of their loved one's life celebration. Beyond my role as a Licensed Funeral Director and Owner, I bring additional expertise as a Certified Grief Counselor, Certified Crematory Operator, and Licensed Insurance Intermediary.

MICKI THELEN

Licensed Funeral Director/Licensed Insurance Intermediary/funeral Luncheon Supervisor

As a Licensed Funeral Director and daughter of Tim and Kris, my journey in the funeral industry is rooted in compassion and family legacy. After two years of study at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI, I chose to embrace the calling of continuing the family tradition. Turning to MATC, I became the next-generation funeral director at Thelen Funeral Services.

Having grown up within the funeral industry, I've been part of Thelen Funeral Services since its inception. My initial role involved managing the luncheon space, gradually evolving to encompass responsibilities as a Licensed Funeral Director and Licensed Insurance Agent. I find deep honor in assisting families through all stages of end-of-life planning.

Dedication and compassion have been the hallmarks of my service to our community. As I navigate this industry, I am committed to upholding the same values instilled by my father, ensuring that the legacy of empathy and support continues for many years to come.

Grief Therapy Services

Here is Ari, a valued member  of the Thelen Funeral Services staff.  Arianna, "Ari", is our grief therapy dog.  She is here to assist in making your very difficult day just a little easier.  She is an English Bulldog.  She is still in training (and always will be....she loves the attention), but she is a lover and wants to simply help in any way she can.  Stop on in and see her and just say hi.  She really does love the attention.

PATRICIA SHORR

Funeral Assistant/Office Assistant

Pat has joined our Funeral Home family and is assisting with the weekly workings of the home and assists on funerals, both with visitations/funerals and with luncheons.  Pat is a valued member to the staff and always enjoys helping our families with whatever they need.  She also has a good ear to listen.  Currently she is working towards becoming a Certified Funeral Celebrant so she can help families that do not otherwise have a ceremony leader/clergy person.  When your next in the area, stop on in and see Pat, see the facility or just stop and say "hi".

Tator Tot

Grief Support Services

Tator Tot, a 6 month old pup is in training to assist Ari with the Grief Support that only a four legged friend can share.  They are here to make your darkest days just a bit brighter too.  She will be in training while she grows and fills both physically and in her training as a grief support dog.  So, if you are in the area, stop in and see Micki and Tator Tot.  They are always looking for more families to minister to.
