David John MAGNER

David J. Magner, age 69 of Jefferson died suddenly surrounded by his family at Fort Health Care on Thursday, October 6, 2016.  Born on November 9, 1946 in Beloit to Hubert and Verneal (Klein) Magner.  

He married the love of his life, Hisako Matsubara on October 27, 1969 in Vancouver, Canada.

Dave was an Army Veteran. Dave was a teacher for the Jefferson School District for over 20 years, bringing a passion to teaching and coaching (track, swimming, football and basketball) that was infectious.  He enjoyed the Packers and Badgers, he loved the game of golf.  He was a devoted husband, father and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Hisako; children, Jeff (Jamie), Scott and Mindy (John) Stewart; his 3 grandchildren, Alex, Mya and Meghan; his mother, Verneal; sister, Theresa Cavallo, other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Hubert.

Funeral services for Dave will be Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jefferson, WI with Fr. Tom Coyle officiating and with military honors to follow.  Memorial gathering will be at the CHURCH from 9:00AM until the time of the mass.

Memorial contributions in Dave’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital or MDA.
